5 DAYS CAMPING SAFARI IN DETAILS.

On this 5 days Private Camping safari you will visit Lake Manyara, Tarangire, and Serengeti National Park as well as the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you immerse yourself in Africa’s breath-taking nature and wildlife.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park.

After a short briefing in the morning, you will be taken to the Tarangire National Park. The park with its endless tree savannah including the impressive baobab trees and seasonal marshes is also home to the largest elephant herds in northern Tanzania. In addition to elephants, you are also likely to spot giraffes, buffaloes, lions, zebras, gnus, and other types of antelopes and gazelles. Upon arrival at the park, your guide will open the roof of the vehicle and the extensive wildlife viewing will begin. Lunch will be taken at a picnic spot and in the afternoon you will get to see more of this amazing and beautiful park.

Day 2: Tarangire Area – Serengeti National Park. 

After breakfast you will depart towards the Rift Valley, passing through Mto WA Mbu and Karatu, in the cooler regions of the crater highlands. You will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stop for a short look into the crater from a viewing point. Continuing your journey around the crater, you will descend the other side, enjoying your free “African massage” on the bumpy road, passing Maasai villages on your way to the Serengeti National Park. At the Naabi Hill entrance gate you can walk to a viewpoint with spectacular views across the plains of the Serengeti savannah. You will then continue towards the Seronera Area in the central part of the Serengeti. The park offers a multitude of wildlife including the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. Lunch will be enjoyed en-route.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater. 

       .       Distance: 145km

• Non – game-viewing time: 3 – 4 hrs.

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. Then head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Seronera Public Campsite

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater –Lake Manyara: 

  Distance: 210km Non – game-viewing time: 3 – 4 hrs.

After an early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here. Late afternoon transfer to Karatu for dinner and Overnight.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park- Arusha: 

After breakfast, we head to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park offers breath-taking views and a large variety of habitats. Acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps, and the lake itself. And thanks to this the small Park is able to support a large number of animal species and incredible birdlife. Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world and the lions here are also renowned for their tree climbing. Late afternoon we drive back to Arusha city or to the airport.
